Just saw a picture up on another site of 1069 getting pushed outta the shop for a few last minute tests after more than 3 months. 1069 did get a new fresh coat of paint.

1069 is definitely the "Virginian". And yes, where in South Dakota does this go, and via what routing (strictly out of curiosity -- I'm not going there)?

05/25/24, NS 955 is ordered in Altoona, PA, at 7:00am, and will travel west. I do not know for sure, but I think this OCS train will be pulled by NS 1069, 8099, or both.

Would someone with access to ATCS be kind enough to provide an update on the western progress of this train? If possible, please provide scheduled time into Barstow. I might get a wild hair and run out to the Needles sub to photograph this train. Thanks Tim Costello

1 and 2. BNSF 7438 leads UP 1982 (mo-pac Heritage unit) and NS 1069 (Virginian Heritage unit) on train M-KCKALT1-30A as it arrives at Alliance Yard in Haslet, Texas.

With the recent release of the Virginian heritage unit, NS also announced that they intend to fully repaint all 20 heritage units. This to include primer, paint, and clearcoat.
