The C36 Class 4-6-0 express locomotives were introduced in 1925. 10 C36 Class locomotives were built at Eveleigh Workshops and 65 were built at Clyde Engineering. The class was scraped in the 1960s. Three have been preserved at the Rail Transport Museum at Thirlmere.
