BPV Bogie Explosives Van - NSW Goods Rollingstock
This group of BPV vans were converted from MBC type covered vans. During conversion, the ice roof compartment was removed, and the interior divided into two compartments. The larger compartment was 10m long and was designated for explosive substances.
MRC Ice Chilled Wagon - SDS_Models
In 1973-1974 eight cars were converted to carry explosives, this conversion was an additional single side door and the removal of the interior insulation. These cars were coded BPV and later NZPA. Most cars were condemned by the late 1980s.
