The EMD SW7 was a diesel switcher locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between October 1949 and January 1951. [2] It was powered by a 1,200 horsepower (895 kW)12-567A engine. [1] The SW7 replaced the earlier 1,000 horsepower NW2 switcher in EMD's catalog. [3] A total of 489 SW7 locomotives were produced.

2016年12月7日 · Can anyone identify the horn-type on this NYC SW7? I picked up a Paragon 2 BLI SW7 recently and it has three horn choices. The 1st and 3rd are monotonal and the middle one is tritonal.

SW7. EMD's followup to the NW2 was the 1200 horsepower SW7. PRR and NYC both owned the SW7, with the Central's units keeping their former numbers, located in the 8836-8910 number range, while the Pennsy's units were renumbered 9076-9098.

2 天之前 · In 1968, the PRR merged with the NYC to form Penn Central, so the #9082, like all the other former PRR SW7s was repainted into a new black Penn Central paint job, and continued service. In 1976, after a while of financial trouble, Penn Central was forced to merge with Conrail.
