The RDC has been operationally and cosmetically restored by New York, Susquehanna & Western Technical and Historical Society who uses it for excursion service. In April 1954, this RDC was sold to the Central RR of NJ. Later (date?) it was sold to the New York, Susquehanna & Western Railroad. It was rebuilt by General Electric in December 1974.

The Budd Rail Diesel Car (RDC), also known as the Budd car or Buddliner, is a self-propelled diesel multiple unit (DMU) railcar. Between 1949 and 1962, 398 RDCs were built by the Budd Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.

2015年10月21日 · The NYS&W also owned four all-passenger model RDC-1 rail diesel cars built by the Budd Company of Philadelphia in 1950. Each car was eighty-five feet long with corrugated stainless steel bodies. The diesel engine was mounted beneath the frame and motorman cabs were located at both ends.

2024年1月7日 · The NYS&W bought 4 RDC's new in 1950 (M1-M4). All of them still exist in varying states of disrepair. In the early 1990's the NYS&W acquired 4 RDC's of NYC and NH heritage from Metro-North to operate the On-Track shuttle service in Syracuse, NY.
