Some prophets are categorized as messengers (Arabic: رُسُل, romanized: rusul; sing. رَسُول, rasool), those who transmit divine revelation, most of them through the interaction of an angel. Muslims believe that many prophets existed, including many not mentioned in the Quran. The Quran states: "And for every community there is a messenger."

The most well-known view is that a nabi and a rasul both receive revelation, but the rasul is commanded by Allah to convey it, whereas the nabi is not commanded to convey it.

2012年6月20日 · What is the difference between rasul and nabi? A loose definition in English is that a Nabi (pl. Anbiya) is a Prophet, and a Rasul (pl. Rusul) is a Messenger. Linguistically, a Nabi is someone who has been given revelation or news (of an important nature, immediately concerning themselves or their communities).

Islam distinguishes between a Messenger or Rasul (رسول) and a Prophet or Nabi (نبي ‎). A Messenger delivers a new religious law (Syari'a) wheres a Prophet continues an old one.

Quran has used two words Nabi (Prophets) and Rasool (Messenger) interchangeably but there are 6 differences between them as explained below. Nabi نبي = Prophet. Rasool رسول = Messenger. Although it is not a major difference most of the Rasool came with a Sharia Law while Nabi followed and preached the Sharia of previous messengers.

A Nabi is one who is not given a new book, but rather establishes the book which was revealed to the Rasool before him. He does not abrogate the book and the code of law which was in vogue before him. He sees the angel in a dream or the Rasool of the time informs him that he has been chosen as a Nabi.

2014年12月14日 · A Prophet (nabi) is a prophet for 24-hours; however he does not act as a Messenger (rasul) for 24-hours. When he acts in the capacity of a Messenger (rasul) and communicates the verses of God, he says exactly what God has sent down, and so he does not make mistake in his words.
