The North American Charging System (NACS), standardized as SAE J3400, is an electric vehicle (EV) charging connector standard maintained by SAE International. [1] .

The North American Charging System (NACS) is a charging connector that enables access to DC fast charging systems like Tesla’s Supercharger network. In 2025, select Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle models will come equipped with the NACS charging port, and gradually all EVs will be designed to be compatible with this charging option.

Charge from AC or DC power sources with one connector and at the fastest charging speeds. Developed from over 20 billion miles of charging, the performance and safety of the NACS design has been pressure tested and proven. Throughout 2025, our North American Supercharging network is opening to more automakers.
