2023年8月30日 · NAD is one of the exceptions in major brands to offer an amplifier with Purifi module in it. That comes at a premium in retail cost due to channel and brand overhead. The C298 delivers excellent performance with just some minor issues in variable gain and idle noise. I am going to put the NAD C298 on my recommended list.

2025年1月22日 · Currently I have a Tom Evans Vibe pre amp going into a Nad C298 power amp. Speakers are Quadral Galans. The sound I’m getting is good, however the volume and dynamics are not what I expected considering the power of the Nad 298. I can turn the volume knob fully on. Yes it’s loud, but still bearable - Sort of party level.

2024年5月15日 · The C298 is more than enough to drive those speakers. They are IIRC a 90db efficient speaker that run around 4 ohms nominal. The 298 puts out 340watts continuous into that impedance, with instantaneous peak power into 4 ohms at 490watts!

2021年2月20日 · I'm kinda looking for a 2nd amp to rotate in once in a while to give my mono tube amps a rest. Most interested in the C298 for its expansive sound stage, depth, smoothness, and revealing midrange presence this amp seems to present. Found the C298 reading about the Purifi modules, and what NAD has done so far. Nice.

2023年8月30日 · Except that nad pcb are so cheap small traces tend to lift off or disappear when repairing. I would be very hesitant to buy a NAD AVR—too complicated and tightly packed— and would need to do some heavy research before investing in expensive class d amps like this one or the masters. Now if NAD was selling $300- $500 class d amps.

2021年2月2日 · For SINAD calculation (@5w) of the Nad C298 = a factor of SNR and THD = 97dB (@5w), which is an effective 15.8 bits. The 1ET400a measured 104dB (@5w), which is an effective 17 bits, so it is higher. Interesting, this is a very good result for the Nad vs most amplifiers but not against the 1ET400a Purifi reference design.
