So, a newer CD Player will likely have a better DAC simply because of economics of scale. The current NAD C515 CD player is about £210. I did find the NAD C545 at Superfi for £289 (replaced by the C546 for £499)

2024年9月30日 · new NAD C538 (best price about $635 AU) new Yamaha CDS-303 (best price about $500 AU) used Yamaha CDS-700 (seem to be a few around for around $250-400). Note: Quality of internal dac and other features like usb playback are not really that important as I have other solutions for these in my system.
