2023年4月5日 · The Naim SBL mid/bass driver is larger and simply moves more air, this aids the mid bass and gives instruments in that area a touch more dynamic and present impetus. Dusty Springfield’s ‘Son of a Preacher Man’ is a real tour de force, and one with a fantastically inventive bass line, although one that is somewhat set back in the mix.

The Naim Audio SBL speakers are special in of look, performance and the interesting tech that went into their design. Production ran from '97-2002. The early series of the Naim SBL uses an 8" paper cone bass unit derived from the Mordaunt Short DS08 used in the original Pageant and a Scanspeak tweeter.

2019年11月2日 · Tweeters are the same, but fresher is often better. The big change from the earliest SBLs was the move to a much improved mid/bass drive unit that was built in-house at Naim. As Debs says, the best sounding ones are those that are in good nick and well set up.

2020年11月17日 · Naim went to great lengths to continue the SBLs when their original driver supplier (Mordaunt Short IIRC) stopped making the units. They effectively brought the driver manufacture in-house, made the design better in the process and relaunched it as the MK2 which was available as an upgrade to MK1 SBLs.
