Also, when NYPD got Glocks it was the model 19. Another article says that they first tested the Glocks in 1989, but by 1992 only 600 out of 26,000 officers had them.

The shop listing it said it was bought directly from a retired NYPD officer and it was carried on the job. The serial number is LE xxx US.
