There are currently 31 regions of Ivory Coast. Two areas of the country, the autonomous districts of Abidjan and Yamoussoukro, are not divided into regions. The regions are as follows, with the date of creation in parentheses:

La région de la Nawa est située au sud-ouest de la Côte d’Ivoire, à 480 km d’Abidjan. Elle est frontalière aux régions du Gbôklè et de San-Pedro au sud, au Cavally à l’ouest, au Guemon et au Haut-Sassandra au nord, au Gôh et au Lôh Djiboua à l’est.

The Nawa Region is located in the South-West of Côte d'Ivoire and is subdivided into four (04) Departments: Soubré (Capital), Buyo, Gueyo, and Méagui. It covers an area of 9,193 km², which is 2.85% of the national territory.

Located in the South-West of the Ivory Coast, about 480km from Abidjan, the Nawa Region, backed by the Taï Park, a biosphere reserve and world heritage site, is a forest area with diversified vegetation. Inhabited by abundant wildlife including buffaloes and a few elephants, this region has the town of Soubré as its capital.
