History And Background - National Blood Service Zimbabwe
NBSZ is mandated by the ministry of Health and Child Welfare to collect, process and distribute safe adequate blood and blood products. This is achieved through: Collection of blood from voluntary non-remunerated donors as embodied in the Code of Ethics and Principles of Blood Donation and Transfusion of the ISBT (General Assembly ISBT I12: 2000).
Donation Process - National Blood Service Zimbabwe
Post Donation. Following your donation you will receive refreshments and it is recommended that you stay until you feel strong enough to leave. After donating, you should increase your fluid intake for the next 24-48 hours; avoid strenuous and physical exertion, heavy lifting or pulling with the arm for about 5 hours.
