Neera Tanden (born September 10, 1970) is an American political consultant and government official who served as director of the United States Domestic Policy Council from 2023 to 2025.

Neera Tanden (born September 10, 1970) is an American political consultant and lawyer. She was president of the Center for American Progress from 2003 to 2021. During the Barack Obama presidency, Tanden helped create the Affordable Care Act. In May 2021, she became a Senior Advisor to President Joe Biden.

Neera Tanden currently serves as Domestic Policy Advisor to President Biden. Previously, she was Senior Advisor and Staff Secretary in the White House. She has served in both the Obama and Clinton administrations, as well as presidential campaigns and think tanks.
