It hurt his sensitive eyes so much that he was forced to wear a blindfold in the hospital. This lead to stupid questions like "Are you blind?" Or "You poor dear. What happened to you that you need your eyes bandaged?" Neji would ignore the questions which sometimes lead to questioning of him maybe being deaf.
