Unfortunately starting 2 months ago we have been experiencing a very strong odor associated with the tubes. Have tried chaning the bags and the outside tubes frequently along with clothing and bedding.

The price is between $10 and $11.50 per bag with shipping if you order in quantity (10 to 20 at a time). My insurance will only pay for 2 bags per month which is not near enough. I am not sure if these suppliers would accept medicare.

He got sepsis after the nephrostomy tubes were placed. And to top it all off now he is having trouble sleeping because the tube is so uncomfortable. Has anyone got any ideas how to make him comfortable?

2015年2月18日 · I had nephrostomy tubes in for two years before finally going to the IC. Theoretically nephrostomy tubes can be left in for lifetime. Some patients have gone many years. But there is always the possibility of infections or other problems. Worst problem I had was one tube getting pulled out.

About a week and a half ago we noticed a very strong plastic-y smell (like a kiddie pool liner) from one of the bags. He reported this to the cancer center and no one seems to have ever come across this smell before.

It will be after the first of the year before they do the RC because they have to deal with a tumor in her lung first.

2022年7月22日 · As you would guess, it can happen if the kidney is compromised and not producing urine. This might not be 'normal' but it might be what they 'expected' based on other factors. I had bilateral nephrostomy tubes at one point, and a similar difference in output, but it was expected because of prior kidney status.
