Electrical and synaptic integration of glioma into neural circuits
2019年9月18日 · Here we show that neuron and glioma interactions include electrochemical communication through bona fide AMPA receptor-dependent neuron–glioma synapses. Neuronal activity also evokes...
GABAergic neuron-to-glioma synapses in diffuse midline gliomas
2025年2月19日 · Using whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology, in vivo optogenetics and patient-derived orthotopic xenograft models, we identified functional, tumour-promoting GABAergic neuron-to-glioma...
Characterizing and targeting glioblastoma neuron-tumor …
2024年12月6日 · Neuron-to-glioma synapses have been shown to promote glioblastoma progression. However, a characterization of tumor-connected neurons has been hampered by a lack of technologies. Here, we adapted retrograde tracing using rabies viruses to investigate and manipulate neuron-tumor networks.
Glioma-neuronal interactions in tumor progression: Mechanism ...
An increasing body of evidence has become available to reveal the synaptic and functional integration of glioma into the brain network, facilitating tumor progression. The novel discovery of glioma-neuronal interactions has fundamentally challenged ...
Glioblastoma remodelling of human neural circuits decreases …
2023年5月3日 · Using intracranial brain recordings during lexical retrieval language tasks in awake humans together with site-specific tumour tissue biopsies and cell biology experiments, we find that gliomas...
The crosstalk between glioma and nervous system
1 天前 · Neuron–glioma interactions. a, Neurons regulate glioma progression by secreting paracrine growth factors and by forming synaptic connections with glioma cells. In turn, synaptogenic factors secreted by gliomas can increase neuronal activity in the tumor microenvironment. b, After the IGF1 derived from neurons binds to the IGF1R on the ...
Glioma-induced alterations in excitatory neurons are reversed by …
2025年1月20日 · Glioma patients suffer devastating neurological complications. Using mouse models, the authors show that glioma induces neuronal mTOR activity, alters translation of synaptic genes, reduces dendritic spines and inhibitory synapses, and causes hyperexcitability and stimulus-evoked discharges.
Widespread neuroanatomical integration and distinct ... - PNAS
We developed a system utilizing rabies virus–based monosynaptic tracing to visualize neurons that synapse onto human gliomas implanted in the mouse brain. This approach maps and quantitatively analyzes glioma-innervating neurons (GINs) across the brain and overcomes previous barriers to their molecular and electrophysiological analysis.
Electrical and synaptic integration of glioma into neural circuits
Here we show that neuron and glioma interactions include electrochemical communication through bona fide AMPA receptor-dependent neuron-glioma synapses. Neuronal activity also evokes non-synaptic activity-dependent potassium currents that are amplified by gap junction-mediated tumour interconnections, forming an electrically coupled network.
Neuronal Activity Promotes Glioma Progression by Inducing
2024年2月1日 · Neuronal activity can drive progression of high-grade glioma by mediating mitogen production and neuron-glioma synaptic communications. Glioma stem cells (GSC) also play a significant role in progression, therapy resistance, and recurrence in glioma, which implicates potential cross-talk between neuronal activity and GSC biology.
