The charitable, volunteer support group, Friends of the Nevada Southern Railway (FNSR), receives its State charter. The Volunteers' provide the crews that staff and operate the train, do maintenance and restoration work and fund raise for future projects and expansion.

There are four operational diesel locomotives at the Nevada Southern Railway. Display Only Locomotives: There are three locomotives in the Museum collection that will be used for display only. The steam locomotives were not operational when acquired.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum, 601 Yucca St., is planning to expand its facility to include a 9,700-square-foot visitors center, new boarding platforms, display buildings and linear park with interactive features for children and links to the River Mountains Loop Trail.

We, the Friends of the Nevada Southern Railway, invite you to become a Member and join in our support of the Nevada State Railroad Museum. We provide educational programs in conjunction with schools, carry out restoration projects, assist in maintenance of the train equipment, and provide crews for train operations.
