Nez Perce County has a three-member board of county commissioners as the governing body. Two county commissioners are elected each biennium--one for a two year term and one for a four year term (Article 18, Section 10).

The Nez Perce County Comprehensive Plan has projected a study area population of over 46,367 by the year 2020. This represents a .85% annual increase in population over the next 22 years.

The Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center is located at 1150 Wall Street, Lewiston, Idaho. The Adult Detention Center can be reached by telephone at 208-799-3132. Mon-Fri 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM The additional charge to renew your registrations through your county office is the Administration fee. This fee is used to fund the Auto License office and keep it open and operating, so that we can continue to provide personalized customer service locally.
