May 16, 2024 · TREM2, a cell surface receptor expressed by microglia, is implicated in the modulation of neuroinflammatory responses. In this study, we investigated if and how Dehydroervatamine (DHE), a natural alkaloid, reduced the inflammatory phenotype of microglia and suppressed neuroinflammation.

Results: DHE staining indicated that oxidative stress significantly increased in HG exposed MMECs while this effect was reversed upon in NAC treatment. NAC treatment also markedly decreased HG-induced SG assembly. Conclusion: The data suggest that HG-induced oxidative stress plays a major role in SG assembly in ECs.
