YoRHa No.9 Type S, or just 9S, is one of the protagonists of NieR:Automata. He is the main character of Branches B and D, as well as one of the main antagonists and final boss of Branch C. 9S is a scanner-type android who served during the 14th Machine War.

Emil, also known as No. 7, is a companion and deuteragonist in NieR, its remake, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., and a minor character in NieR:Automata. A young boy that joins Nier's party towards the end of Act I, cursed with the ability to turn anyone who sees his eyes to stone.
