The Cult are the main antagonistic faction of the 2017 adventure game Night in the Woods. They are a mysterious group who worship an entity named " The Black Goat ", and are responsible for many of the disappearances around the town of Possum Springs.

Eide serves as the pseudo main antagonist for Night in the Woods and is a member of The Cult. Little is known of Eide's personality or motives, but it can be derived from Mae's final encounter with him that his main goal is to sacrifice Mae to the Black Goat.

She herself had a run-in with a giant catlike god, an ominous interaction that assured her of her own insignificance in the grand scheme of the world; could this have been a manifestation of the black goat?

The Black Goat is the deity worshipped by the Cult that follows Mae throughout the game. It also is supposedly the reason behind Mae's strange dreams. The Black Goat supposedly resides within a hole deep within the abandoned mines near Possum Springs.

2017年3月3日 · Despite looking shady, I think Molly is most likely NOT a cultist. She's not present every day before the events, being a policewoman and all she's probalby busy investigating strange sightings, the arm, probably previous missing people, etc.

2022年1月16日 · They appear there every day (go, smelters!) and they talk sports and stuff outside the bar. I think it's a bird, while the other one is a crocodile. The only time they do not appear is after the cult gets trapped, so I believe they are a part of the cult. There’s theory’s that Mae’s aunt (molly) is one of them.

What characters do you think were part of the cult? I don't think it can be anyone tied to the main characters. As much as Aunt Mall Cop and Bea's Dad are very likely candidates due to their positions in Possum Springs, they'd probably have tried to use that to get Mae and Co to join.

2017年3月8日 · NITW, being a fictional story, runs on fictional rules. The fact that Aunt Mall Cop doesn't show up in the epilogue is a huge indicator. That she shows up whenever Mae gets close to cult stuff, is a huge indicator.

2017年3月25日 · As the cult represents mainstream conservatism, it can be tied to similar attitudes prevalent in that movement, more directly represented by what the town council is doing throughout the game.
