
What to feed during Winter when the hive has no honey?
2014年11月9日 · A neighbor is a first year beek. An inspection in early November shows her single hive has a big population with a lot of young bees. The queen is there, too. Everything looks great . . . except . . . the hive has absolutely no capped honey. The hive has some pollen and about a half frame of nectar, but there is absolutely no capped honey.

2015年9月24日 · Most recently I returned to my hive to find all of my bees gone, about 10-20 dead on the bottom board, and all of the frames Empty of brood/honey -every cell is empty leaving only empty comb. Is this normal of a swarm; did they swarm? Hive robbing? There were no visible varroa or other visible pests. no damage at all to the comb.

2009年4月22日 · We've got an overwintered hive, 2 deeps, that's filled with honey, and virtually no brood. There are eggs in the drone frame, but those are all the eggs we found. No brood at all. Just honey. We did find the queen. Since she looks like the queen we started with last year, we're fairly certain she's the same one .

2010年8月13日 · Why would bees not be making honey in the supers after being on for about 4-weeks now? I do have a queen excluder under the super on each hive. ( 2 hives ). there seems to be about 40-50 bees in each super, just no comb or honey.

2012年8月29日 · I have 2 hives in their first year. Both have 2 deep brood chambers on the bottom, a queen separator, and a honey super on top. I put on the honey supers when the top brood chamber was a little over half full. Both hives have basically filled out the bottom chambers as of a month ago. There are plenty of larva, capped brood, and honey in each.
