I bought my first Noj Dubrovnik set a good number of years ago and I along with others fell in love with it while playing Chess using it. I agree that they are expensive. And I am happy that I bought my sets from them a good number of years ago.

2016年5月7日 · Without question, Noj Ltd of Slovenia makes the absolute best replicas of the original 1950 Dubrovnik Olympiad set and circa 1950-1970 Dubrovnik II Bobby Fischer set. A brief note, there is some evidence to suggest that the Dubrovnik II Fischer style set was actually made sometime shortly after the Dubrovnik Olympiad set.

2023年10月9日 · Remember that Noj is a company that makes and sells chess sets. Of course you should buy from them what you like. The Dubrovnik sets they make are from the originals in 1950 and in the 1960’s. The Best Chessmen Ever sets were designed by Izmet who has his web site of the Best Chessmen Ever name. Yes, there are the East and West versions as well.

2022年1月25日 · Another beautiful, perfectly crafted set by Noj. Great choice with the Minceta design. A unique and original Dubrovnik variant by Noj. Maple Walnut is a classic choice for boards, pieces and pancakes. The 57mm (2.25") looks like a nice fit. If you find it a tiny bit loose, I think you might find a traditionally sized 55mm board just perfect.

2021年4月1日 · Yes, high Noj price is discouraging which has made many turn to poor quality dubrovnik sets sold by other manufacturers at low pricers. Of course, Noj dubrovnik is not the most accurate copy of the original. The best quality and most accurate dubrovnik is made by Gabriel Coss but I don’t think he takes any more orders from customers.

2017年4月8日 · Hi Mark, definetely a tough choice , but I think you should choose between the Noj Dubrovnik and Tal sets. And then if you decide on the Dubrovnik, then which one, the 1950 Olympiad set or the Dubrovnik II also known as the Bobby Fischer set.

But I would like to bring your attention to a really nice set, t heir PORTOROŽ 08 chess pieces in maple and walnut. 2008 marked the 50th anniversary of the historic 1958 Portoroz Interzonal Tournament won by Mikhail Tal.
