Nomex® is a DuPont registered trademark for its family of aromatic polyamide (aramid) fibers. This family consists of staple fibers, continuous filament yarns, paper and spunlaced fabrics.

Nomex® is an inherently flame-resistant, high-temperature resistant fiber that will not melt, drip, or support combustion in air. It is offered in paper, felt, fabric, and fiber forms. Nomex® brand fiber is used across a diverse range of applications, but it is perhaps best known as a critical component in protective apparel.

2022年4月8日 · Nomex is made in fiber and fibrid (very short particles) forms. Its main strength is its heat resistance as it does not degenerate until it is subjected to 317ºC – and even then, it does not melt. It can be chemically treated to increase its thermal stability.
