2012年1月23日 · Beyond that it hits a wall with modification, though, as there's much less aftermarket and it's much more complicated to go standalone or beef up the fuel system vs the non-vvti 1JZ-GTE. If you'd truly be happy with ~325-340whp forever, the VVTi is great, but beyond that it's all about the earlier ones.

2023年1月23日 · The main difference between VVTI and non-VVTI engines is that VVTI can adjust the valve timing on the fly, while non-VVTI engines can only adjust the valve timing at one fixed point in the engine’s cycle.

2020年9月26日 · VVTi motor has weaker rods, coil-on-plug ignition, variable valve-timing (of course), and a couple other minor differences. The VVTi motor is shit compared to a non-vvt. They sold it in the Supra for four years in Japan, and the GTE rods are the same. "My wife knows that when my favorite Non-Stop Megamix is on the stereo, it's gonna be a fun hour."

2008年7月11日 · I got a chance to take some pictures of VVTi and Non-VVTi. This thread is only addressing the block and not the function of VVTi heads. Anyway, as you can see the VVTi block has an extra oil outlet on each side of the block.

2022年8月7日 · Non VVT-i from 1995-1997 have 260 hp and 270 lb-ft torque and 1990-1994 have 250 hp and 260 lb-ft torque. 1990-1994 motors are non interference, 1995-2000 motors are interference. More parts are available for the non VVT-i motors and they are cheaper to mod if you want to make power cheaply.

2022年2月25日 · Everyone says non vvti ges are stronger than vvti ges. No, not the same. 2jzge’s with a distributor have GTE rods. VVTi 2jzge have pixie dust rods. Poke around around Supraforums- the MKIV non turbo has the stouter rods. Find the NA-T “Bible”. Read some NA-T threads and see what it can do.

2015年5月22日 · IMHO VVTI is great, 2jz in stock form feels a pretty lazy old lump, but the VVTI brings it alive, it feels like a high comp engine when compared to non vvti. And on single turbo cars it gains you great spool time and just makes the car feel more lively. All round win imho.

The most durable and reliable 1JZ is a simple non-VVT-i 1JZ-GE engine. The longevity is well over 200,000 miles (320,000 km), but they are old now and find one of these engines in a good shape is not an easy task.
