2007年6月1日 · Of the measures reviewed, the Non-communicative Patient’s Pain Assessment Instrument (NOPPAIN) emerged as the strongest available tool specifically designed to measure pain in persons with dementia. The purpose of this study, therefore, was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the NOPPAIN in measuring pain, when used by nurses.

The preliminary data of the present study support the reliability and validity of the Italian version of the NOPPAIN, which appears to be an easy-to-use tool in the assessment of pain in hospitalized non-communicative patients.
