The NZR B class of 1899 was a class of steam locomotives that operated on New Zealand's national rail network. An earlier B class of Double Fairlies had entered service in 1874, but as they had departed from the ownership of the New Zealand Railways (NZR) by the end of 1896, the B classification was free to be re-used.

Ba Class 4-8-0 - trainweb.org
Intended primarily for the haulage of heavy freight trains at speeds up to 30 m.p.h., but like other Dunedin locomotives, took their turn on passenger trains. All but two were ultimately fitted with tender cabs and placed into shunting duties. Five were rebuilt with wide-firebox boilers; two in 1928, and three 1948-1949.

The models in 1:87 scale are only available in the Detail Plastics. (Frosted Detail & Frosted Ultra Detail). HO American dynamic brake details, grills , air hoses, couplers, handrails etc to finish off.
