Adoption of OK-N In the US - 2 Stroke Kart Engine Forums
Oct 13, 2022 · I am more hard-line on nomenclature to be fair. This isn’t OK-N. OK-N is a set of FIA technical regulations that multiple manufacturers build and homologate to. If you can’t race a homologated OK-N engine in this class, then it isn’t OK-N and thus shouldn’t be called OK-N. It should be called Formula Vortex-N or whatever.

Jun 29, 2022 · Interesting. So OK but a little more semi-pro for national racing. Like KZ2 and KZ somewhat. Not the worst idea honestly.

Sep 14, 2024 · Pure spec-to-spec and OK-N, on paper, should be more cost effective, just due less revs and load due to no power-valve. But cost is related to so many other factors. Christian_Fox (Christian Fox) September 20, 2024, 2:35pm

Dec 29, 2022 · The OK-N in Italy, will use Vega “Option” XH3, which are by default and definition slower than the Prime MG. I believe this to be in the region of 3-4 tenths. Nevertheless, from the tests that are currently being done by multiple teams a little bit everywhere (MLG today in Franciacorta again, with three OK-Ns), the OK-N (on Vega XH3) is ...

Even still, I think that OK-N should at the very very very least have had a 16k rev limit, preferably 18k. (well no rev limit would be the best).

Jul 1, 2022 · A similar project was started here in the UK which is basically the same idea - KF Clubman. It was baiscally KF3 + 1000k revs ()KF2 ECU). OK-N is basically OK-J with 1000 more revs… i.e the same thing. So OK-N is not a new idea within the FIA realm. KF Clubman failed very quickly in the UK.

Jul 1, 2022 · More $$$ in running on the american circuit than with the factory teams for guys like him and Norberg. The driver salaries are a flat number – usually – and then the expenses to run them through the year are subtractred. In Europe, it costs more to run OK or KZ than over here on the national level. Plus, like @tjkoyen said, he’s helping build …
