This tutorial shows how to paint a plasma gun with an orange OSL effect, using Vallejo’s fluo colors and inks. A Space Wolves Primaris Hellblaster has been used for the example. This orange color has been chosen because it is the complementary color to blue, so it contrasts very well with the Space Wolves armor.

Imperial weapons use hydrogen for their plasma. Hydrogen gives out two different colours, a strong red and aqua-blue, which combine to give a pink colour. I've started doing OSL effects with fluorescent paints and it works really well. Just paint the area white where you want the light to originate from, and then apply Fluor on it.

OSL is the same, it is not only the light of the object, but also the illumination of the rest of the mini (in your case, the rest of the mini looks under normal sunlight). But good news, you can still fix it
