Daisy-chaining using FW400 works great (FW800/400 from mac mini to audio interface, and FW400/400 from audio interface to external hard drive).

2020年2月21日 · There are a number of Thunderbolt 3 Docks on the market that include a Firewire 800 port but they are not cheap. It all depends upon how important it is for you to keep those Firewire 800 drives in service. It would likely be more cost effective to buy a new USB 3.1 or Thunderbolt 3 hard drive to replace the Firewire 800 old one.

2025年1月28日 · I believe this is the only FireWire 800 option left on the market. I don't think that anyone other than OWC has sold FireWire enclosures for years, and OWC dropped their bus-powered notebook enclosure a while ago. Unfortunately, even FireWire 800 will bottleneck a SSD, so you won't get the blazing-fast speed people normally associate with SSDs.

2023年10月17日 · The other is an OWC Mercury Elite Pro with 2 Firewire 800 and 1 USB 3.0 port. The G-Tech has two Firewire 800, eSATA, and USB 2.0 ports. The G-Tech doesn't show up when plugged into USB. I haven't tried the OWC on USB. It does feel like a driver problem, since the hardware has been verified to work with Sonoma on my Intel based 2019 MacBook Pro.
