The 17th Operational Weather Squadron (OWS) is located at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The 17 OWS Fighting Geckos are a diverse team of US Air Force Weather, Cyber, and Support Airmen that are equipped and empowered to shape the Information Warfare (IW) landscape in support of USINDOPACOM objectives.

The 25th Operational Weather Squadron (25 OWS), based out of Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, is the Squadron responsible for the Western United States; the current states in the Area of Responsibility (AoR) are Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

When at home station, 25 OWS Airmen provide resource protection for 53 Department of Defense sites across North, Central, and South America, providing Commanders with time to mitigate risk ahead of destructive weather events, enabling a ready force and ensuring homeland security.

The 21 OWS is responsible for producing and disseminating mission planning and execution weather analyses, terminal aerodrome forecasts, and briefings for Air Force, Army, SHAPE, EUCOM, USAFE, USAREUR, SOCEUR, and NAVEUR forces.

The U.S. CENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR) spans more than 4 million square miles and is populated by more than 560 million people from 25 ethnic groups, speaking 20 languages with hundreds of dialects and confessing multiple religions which transect national borders.
