2014年4月24日 · The Electromotive Division SD60 is a 6 axle, 3,800 HP diesel-electric locomotive built by EMD from 1984 until 195. It used the then all-new 16 cylinder 710 engine rated at 3,800 HP. Though the SD60 looked like an SD50 outwardly, it was completely different inside.

2010年3月29日 · The Oakway SD60’s are noted for pioneering the “power-by-the-hour” concept. This was also an attempt by management to evade existing shopcraft union contracts which barred outsourcing of maintenance and overhaul. The IAM and other unions rightfully blew the whistle on this maneuver and the SD60’s were maintained by BN employees.

The SD60 units have since been auctioned off to various leasing companies, while some have since been acquired by CN. Only a handful of ex-Oakway SD60 units still retain their original liveries and numbers. The original three BN SD60 units are now in service with CSX as a result of a purchase in 2001, and have since been renumbered.
