The Type 86P is a Chinese-developed, defensive, fragmentation hand grenade, which is comprised of an ovoid main body, and a fuze assembly. Main Body The main body of the Type 86P is constructed from an olive green coloured plastic, which has a series of horizontal and vertical external ribs to aid the user’s grip.

Fragmentation grenades (defensive) are designed to disperse fragments on detonation, aimed to damage targets within a lethal radius. They are designed to be used from a position of cover against an open area, most often outside. They have an effective kill radius greater than the distance they can be thrown.
