2008年12月6日 · In your first post you stated, "The math all works out that (more or less) when you cut an offset out of a 0.3 F/D prime focus you end up with a offset antenna with an F/D of 0.6." I don't know where you got your information, but the offset dish will have the same focal point as the larger prime focus from which it was derived.

Ku LNBs prime vs. offset, whats the difference?
2010年1月1日 · As ACRadio indicated, you need to match the feed to the dish. If one puts an offset feed on a prime-focus dish, the offset feed will only 'see' the center part of the dish and miss the energy reflected from the outer part. If one puts a prime-focus feed on an offset dish, the feed will 'see' the whole dish, but also 'see' beyond the dish edge.
Our dishs "offset" is 35 - 11 = 24. Sat. Elevation (minus) dish "A" elevation (equals) offset angle. We have a 24 degree offset dish. This can then be used to aim at other sats, Say we want a sat at an elevation of 40 degrees. We would adjust angle "A" on our dish to: 40 - 24 = 16 Degrees Sat elevation (minus) offset (equals) dish "A" elevation.
1.8 Meter Patriot offset dish - SatelliteGuys.US
2005年1月2日 · Just wondering if any members have tried the 1.8 Meter (approx) 6 foot offset dish. I found an online dealer that carries them for around 369.00 dollars (not including the lnb). It comes with an az-el mount and can be motorized with an actuator. requires a 4" pole.
A way to deal with offset dish aiming in difficult situations
2020年12月10日 · It's always advisable to plumb the dish mounting pole to 90° when possible so as you swing a dish to different azimuth angles the LNB polarization or skew angle doesn't get affected too much. To enable an easier method for experimenting with hitting different satellite orbitals, the offset dish mounting pole can be installed at the angle that ...
At Solar Noon rotate the azimuth of the dish until the shadow of the LNBF falls on the centerline of the dish. Relationships: By measuring the dish bracket angle from plumb and subtracting the dish elevation the result will be the Dish Offset. By viewing over the top of the LNBF from behind the dish you will see where the dish is pointed.

2022年10月22日 · I was finally able to do a test. Ku band signal quality with 1.2m offset dish is significantly better compared to same signals with 1.2m prime focus dish. Tried to keep everything else as same as possible. Is this conclusion in-line with the theory? Or should I give another go to the dish alignment for better results with prime focus?

2015年3月21日 · A - Name of the dish; B - Horizontal size of the working area (This represents real size of dish- 1200mm means 1,2m dish); C - Vertical size of the working area; D - Depth of the dish in the very middle of it; E - Offset angle of the dish; F - Opening angle (angle from antenna's focal point and lower and upper points of the dish);

2009年3月11日 · I'm assuming that you are using a fixed mount KU dish with an offset feed horn - something like a Primestar dish. For example - say, the satellite elevation is 40°. The dish most likely has an elevation scale that you would set to 40°. The built-in scale calibration takes into account the dish's built-in feed horn offset.
