Development of a Tool to Assess Risk for Falls in Women in …
The OFRAS™ tool was evaluated by applying it retrospectively to 6 inpatient obstetric falls and 14 near misses. The score range for women who fell was higher (OFRAS™ score range 2 to 14) than in the near‐miss patients (OFRAS™ score range 1 to 9).
Determine Validity & Reliability for the OFRAS Tool • Retrospective analysis of 100 epiduralized obstetric patients using OFRAS tool – Test for sensitivity in measuring the patient ’s readiness to ambulate after regional anesthesia • Prospective data collection using OFRAS tool – Test for reliability, validity and sensitivity

2025年2月20日 · Analysis of AUROCs demonstrated that the OFRAS is more sensitive and specific for obstetric patients than the MFS. The OFRAS showed significance (p < .001) in predicting falls compared to the MFS (p = .40). Associations between fall scores and falls were examined in separate conditional logistic regression models.
Th e Postepidural Fall Risk Assessment Score (PEFRAS) is the only published work about obstetric fall prevention. We developed this tool based on the MFS and the modifi ed Aldrete scoring system (Aldrete, 1998), which is used to de-termine recovery from anesthesia in postoperative patients (Frank, Lane, & Hokason, 2008). Although this tool was

The OFRAS, PEFRAS, SLOPE, and Maternal Fall Risk Assessment Scale included more risk factors associated with pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period and appeared to be more comprehensive to assess fall risk in women who receive maternity care.

Research using the OFRAS to analyze readiness to ambulate among 100 epiduralized ob-stetric patients postanesthesia and evaluate reliability, validity, and sensitivity is planned. Expan-sion to a multisite trial is being explored.
“Catch a Falling Star”: The Development of the Obstetric Falls Risk ...
Currently, there is no research on obstetric fall risk assessment tools. The purpose of the Obstetric Falls Risk Assessment System (OFRAS) is to improve safety among inpatient pregnant women using an assessment tool and scoring system to determine fall risk.
Development of the Obstetric Falls Risk Assessment
2011年1月28日 · OFRAS was created to be a systematic assessment tool for ante, intra and post-partum patients using a scoring system to quantify the patient's fall risk. An expert panel of obstetric nurses was...
Obstetric Fall Risk Assessment Score (OFRAS™) Tool. The developers sought to identify all the potential fall risk factors that might be encountered during a woman’s obstetric hospitalization. The result was the OFRAS™ Tool that stratified risk across 6 categories: Prior History, Cardiovascular, Hemorrhage, Neurologic Function and
