The OFRAS™ tool was evaluated by applying it retrospectively to 6 inpatient obstetric falls and 14 near misses. The score range for women who fell was higher (OFRAS™ score range 2 to 14) than in the near‐miss patients (OFRAS™ score range 1 to 9).

Research using the OFRAS to analyze readiness to ambulate among 100 epiduralized ob-stetric patients postanesthesia and evaluate reliability, validity, and sensitivity is planned. Expan-sion to a multisite trial is being explored.
