The dashboard is the application that runs when the original Xbox is started, which presents the main menu interface and allows device configuration and storage management. The pre-formatted Xbox HDD image, does not contain the official Xbox dashboard. Instead it contains only an unsigned "dummy" dashboard, intended to be replaced.

Manage Xbox Live settings (This is the only dashboard I have been able to find that allows you manage these settings). Manage Network settings (This can be managed from other dashboards as well).

The Dashboard allows users to manage storage devices connected, play and rip music from CDs and the hard drive, access Xbox Live account details and alter console settings such as sound, video and network. The main menu is mostly a green color with a large original Xbox logo placed predominantly on the left of this screen.

The 360 had the blades at the start ( https://www.lasertimepodcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Interface.jpg ) and switched over to tiles with the first new design (new Xbox experience, NXE -> https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek_NM8Vht0E ) in 2008 followed by multiple other tile designs.
