Mar 15, 2015 · What is the most common oil leak on the top of the 7.3? I suspect valve cover gaskets, and maybe the intake manifolds to the heads. Any tips? Things to check? If the oil is in the valley, it's usually the high pressure oil pump. You can get a rebuild kit from International, and it's not a hard fix.

I’ve checked the valley for leaks and can see my Hpop does leak but the oil hasn’t run back to the drain hole in the valley (it is bone dry at the hole).

The most common for large amounts of oil loss are the HPOP O-Rings that are located at the ends of the fittings that screw into the HPOP. These can be repaired at home with a 9/16th wrench and some time... the O rings are cheap/free at your local autoparts store.

Apr 20, 2019 · Turbo O-rings can leak, you also have the HPOP up front, you have oil lines from it to each bank to feed high-pressure oil to the injectors. You said you have oil puddles on top. Might be good to clean all of that out and take a look at the oil lines and HPOP.
