While they are not perfect primary colors (well, Yellow is VERY close to being so), they represent the closest to primary colors that one can select for paint. (Primary “Blue” is, indeed, Cyan. Each brand has to be done separately and redone each time a manufacturer changes formula (they don’t usually announce that). It can be done, afterall, Pantone makes a lot of money on matching colors in the print and paint industries.
