Iola “Olie,” Else has been an ambassador of the University of Montana Western and the sport of rodeo for over three decades. Olie could be seen wearing her iconic tailored red jacket and ringing a cowbell to cheer on her UMW rodeo athletes. In 1999, she was named “The Grand Dame of College Rodeo,” at the College National Finals in Casper, Wyoming.

The University of Montana Western is proud to announce that Iola "Olie" Else has been honored with the Montana Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her unwavering commitment to agricultural advocacy.Olie has been an integral part of UMW’s Equine and Natural Horsemanship Program since its launch in 2000.

2024年12月10日 · The University of Montana Western is proud to announce that Iola "Olie" Else has been honored with the Montana Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her unwavering commitment to agricultural advocacy.

Olie is more than a coach; she is the heart and soul of Montana Western rodeo and is well-known and respected on a local, regional and national level. Else and Montana Western rodeo continue to receive NIRA honors including Coach of the Year, RAWHIDE Award, individual national champions and top ten finishes for both the men's and women's teams.

2018年5月14日 · Montana Congressman Greg Gianforte has honored Iola “Olie” Else, University of Montana Western’s rodeo coach, with the Spirit of Montana award for her long-standing dedication to education and the sport of college rodeo. Coach Olie Else is retiring at the end of the season after 25 years as head coach.
