2018年12月3日 · Omni VII and Omni VIII are both contracts for tubes that have minimum spec requirements. Omni VII's minimum spec requirements are higher than Omni VIII, but that doesn't mean the tube is going to be better.

2020年5月14日 · A good used Omni VII can be found as low as 900 and can be later sold for @ the same price or more. The PVS7 is in service with LEO and militaries around the world including ours. The 7 is very capable and effective piece of kit and most users find it easier to move, navigate, and drive with vs a 14.

2020年4月28日 · Omni VII minimum specs are slightly MO BETTA than Omni VIII. However that does not necessarily mean all Omni VII are better than Omni VIII. Just the minimums are better. Omni VII has minimum specs 3.0 higher on SN, 200 uA/lm higher on Photocathode Sensitivity, 25,000 higher on Gain and a few others like Halo.

2018年12月5日 · Some of my best tubes are mil-spec Omni 7 MX-10130D tubes (PVS-7 tubes) with impressively low EBI. There's a point of diminishing returns in terms of tube performance and Omni 7 is about as high as practically desired (SNR of 28 min). Don't think you'd be disappointed with an Omni 7 mil tub or a commercial one with equivalent specs.

2023年9月14日 · Also was wondering if I’d be better off getting the green elbit Omni 7’s instead of the photonis commercial white? If they are truly commercial tubes marked XW1441 then they aren't really in the same ballpark as recently manufactured gen 3 tubes. The commercial tubes can have specs that range from pretty decent to nearly worthless.

2025年2月8日 · Omni VII tubes tend to be alright. The omni vii tubes I’ve handled seem to have fallen in the following spec ranges 28-31 SNR, 1-1.5 ish EBIs…(guesstimates from comparing to tubes with spec sheets)

2022年5月19日 · 2)HE509T - Very similar to 507k, hard to tell which is better. Transmits light decently for a tiny dual window optic, reticle is barely visible to naked eye but does not bloom. Very much has a floating effect as you can't make out the housing under nods.

2023年10月19日 · On examination of my Omni 7 with the (h+s) encoders, it requires about two control rotations to go from 0 to 100 percent (AF/RF, power). One rotation has 60 digital changes. At 4 digital changes per pulse cycle, this is 15 positions.
