2020年11月24日 · A fan named Charles Stross created and submitted his homebrew version of the Githyanki for a D&D campaign to White Dwarf magazine. The lore just took off from there with the Githyanki appearing in the Fiend Folio, Planescape Torment, and beyond. To Stross' credit, the visuals of the Githyanki are not the same.

The ancestors of the githyanki were once human slaves of the illithids, a race devoted to mentally dominating sentient humanoids to work as the backbone of their vast empire. It was believed these original human slaves were transformed through selective breeding.

The ones that followed Gith (aka Children of Gith aka Githyanki) were committing themselves to a dark path that essentially mirrors the Empire they just overthrew, basically seeking to become what they hated, without realising it. Then they loose Gith, the only individual that could have steered the Githyanki to their goal.
