2021年1月8日 · Having been urged to design a logo that is distinctive for the special year of St. Joseph proclaimed by Pope Francis (8 December 2020-2021), I would like to present this image born out of the exchange of views among an Oblate of St. Joseph, a young university student, an educator in the oratory, and a graphic designer.

The anchor represents firm hope in God’s providence over the stormy sea of life. Since 1949, the Oblates have established various houses to mold and guide them in the various stages of priestly and religious vocations. Taking care of one's soul is imperative to every Christian. Seeing this need, the Oblates have opened two centers of spirituality and retreat.

The Oblates of Saint Joseph (Latin: Congregatio Oblatorum S. Ioseph; abbreviated OSJ) is a Catholic religious institute founded on 14 March 1878 by St. Joseph Marello and dedicated to Saint Joseph. The institute has provinces or delegations in Italy, the Philippines, the United States, Mexico, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, India, Poland, and Nigeria.

By virtue of his ordination, the Oblate priest is "at the service of the ecclesial community and to live not for himself but for others" (C 13). Likewise, every Oblate religious brother, equal in dignity with priests by virtue of their religious profession (cf. VC 61), dedicates himself to "a great variety of apostolic and social services" (C 14).

We are the Oblates of St. Joseph, priests and brothers dedicated to serving Jesus in imitation of St. Joseph. Like our patron and model St. Joseph, we strive to live humble, hidden lives, and to do even our ordinary tasks in an extraordinary way.
