KT66 is the designator for a beam power tube introduced by Marconi-Osram Valve Co. Ltd. (M-OV) of Britain in 1937 and marketed for application as a power amplifier for audio frequencies and driver for radio frequencies.

The KT66 is a very well known audio output beam tetrode valve. Our exhibit is a post-WWII device, probably dating from the 1960s. From the 1970s KT66 s lacked the internal carbon dust coating of the glass bulb.

The KT66 is a high slope, indirectly heated beam triode designed principally for use in the output stage of audio amplifiers. It may also be used as an oscillator or R.F. power amplifier for frequencies up to 30 Mc/s.

Vintage Marconi Osram KT66 tubes. Marconi's were labeled as Genelex and GEC. These are the holy grail KT66 for a JTM45. This is a matched pair and when I bought them they tested at 92% and since then I have put maybe 20 hours on them, which means they literally have thousands of hours left on them.
