2015年12月20日 · New outdoor txv fixed it. Must have been stuck completely shut, wish I could tell you why, I've been wondering what has been causing all the txv failures recently. I've done 3 and have a 4th outdoor txv replacement coming this week.

Frost forming immediately on outdoor distributors and on coil after about 5 minutes Some things that don’t make sense to me but I’m pretty certain that the TXV is restricted. Bulb position was correct and well insulated.

2014年6月13日 · Check for temp drop across the filter drier, shouldn't be more than 2-3deg. If that checks OK recover the refrigerant, open up the system and check the TXV strainer, the outdoor piston metering device (both should just be a nut connection, no brazing), the liquid line piping (for kinks), and check for acid in the system (smell or pH test).

2022年11月28日 · IMO, leave the outdoor metering device alone, you got the final field refrigerant charge to manufacturers specifications in cool mode. Don’t go messing with the outdoor metering device. I’d like to see a photo of the indoor TXV as well as the outdoor TXV bottom part mainly as I always thought those metering device where non adjustable.

2021年3月23日 · Do the line temps make sense. I had a heat pump that looked like a bad outdoor TXV, but I was only looking at pressures, then I looked at the SH/SC, didn't make sense at first, then it did. I was right and wrong at the same time, it was the TXV, but not outside, inside. The inside TXV was biflow, it was bad so it was metering both ways.
