2023年5月18日 · 0W-20 is already thin. I think the 0W-16 is pushing it but that’s just my opinion. I’d use 0W-16 at least while under warranty. Some of my coworkers swear they have to take 0W-16 because they said the oil ports on the engine block are too small for anything thicker but I don’t see much of a difference in the size or the viscosity of the oil.

I don't see how they could make any of this clearer. All of the "recommended" use of 0W-16 oil revolves around, "better efficiency", (read better fuel economy), and "easier winter starting".

You are apparently out of touch with regard to transmission problems with many 2017 and some 2018 Highlander and Sienna vehicles suing the 8-speed transmission.
