2024年10月1日 · Ox-Bow House is located at 137 Center Street, Douglas, MI 49406. Charlie Vinz (b. 1980, Wisconsin) is an architect, artist, and educator based in the Upper Midwest. In his approach, cultural production is an open-ended process.

Saugatuck and Douglas are nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan and the Kalamazoo River and are defined by steep, rolling dunes to the west and lush orchard country and farmland to the east. The climate is blessed by the moderating effects of Lake Michigan, which provides cool breezes on warm summer days and plenty of winter snow.

Every month Ox-Bow House features a new exhibition of regional artists and Ox-Bow faculty and alumni. From September 12 through October 5, we will showcase the work of Ox-Bow staff. An opening reception will be held Saturday, September 12 from 4:00–5:00 p.m. in conjunction with the Second Saturday gallery stroll in downtown Douglas.

Ox-Bow House is a pilot project by Ox-Bow School of Art, a 112-year old, independent summer art school that has been welcoming artists from around the nation and beyond to West Michigan since its founding in 1910.

With year-round programs that cater to degree-seeking students, professional artists and those new to the field, Ox-Bow is a protected place where creative processes break-down, reform, and mature. There are a variety of ways to engage in the program, from being a student, artist in residence, faculty member, visiting artist, or fellowship student.
