The Oxbow Eco-Center is both a nature preserve and an environmental learning center in Port St. Lucie, Florida, situated on 225-acres along the North Fork of the St Lucie River. It is the Environmental Education and Community Outreach Division of St. Lucie County’s Environmental Resources Department.

Perched along the western shore of North Fork of the St. Lucie River, Oxbow Eco-Center Preserve protects 225 acres of natural habitats in bustling Port St. Lucie. Amid a growing sea of surrounding subdivisions it’s a natural escape for families and homeschoolers thanks to its vibrant nature center and its childrens’ programs.

Oxbow teaches you to appreciate our natural environment. There are multiple, non-strenuous nature trails that encompass different types of ecosystems and environments - hammocks near the river (my favorite) and sandy pine forests with observation decks.
