The check engine light came on and I pulled the codes which showed the P0008 code and random misfire code.The engine had a slight stumble under a load so I pulled the plugs and to my surprise they look like the original factory plugs with the long number.

2016年5月15日 · You need to go directly to your Cadillac dealer and see if your car is covered under the timing chain recall! Do a Google Custom Search using the search box in the upper right corner of this page using "P0008 engine code". This is a serious fault and hopefully you have under 120,000 miles on your car, so it will be covered by the recall.

The first time it popped up, I cleared it, and a day or two later it popped up again, but this time I left it and it suddenly went away on its own.

So, I travel home and begin researching the P0008 code - it looks like a potential time chain issue. It also looks like GM extended the power train warranty to 10 years and 100,000 miles on some Cadillac CTS.

2018年5月28日 · I have a 2008 CTS with about 51,000 miles with a service engine light on. OnStar gave me the codes: P0017 and P0008. Is this the timing chain wear problem? I have the letter from Cadillac regarding the additional protection. My 10 years will be up 7/16/18 and I am no where near the 120,000 miles.

2023年8月26日 · Hi, I own a 2008 CTS 3.6 DI, I had my timing chains replaced about 4k-5k miles ago and my car just started throwing the P0008 code again. The first time it happened before we swapped the chains it threw a P0008 as well as P0017. Car seems to run fine.

2015年11月2日 · FYI - I just posted this same issue a day or so before you here... and I spoke with someone from GM today, my car is an 08 CTS Hot Lava Edition with the 3.6 DI - 102k on the clock and codes p0008 and p0017 went off a month or so ago - my car goes in on Monday - to the Caddy Dealer for 100% covered repairs on my car.
