2015年2月15日 · Today I took the car for a drive and it's pulling nicely through the rev range and hits 5,500 rpm which it wasn't doing before (ran out of puff at about 5K). But after stopping off to take some pictures, and re-starting the car (half an hour or so), the same problem appeared, glow plug light flashing, EML on, engine stalled of first start. P0087.

2016年2月8日 · My only experience with a P0087 is when my HPFP failed. Except that I received the code at the same time that the pump went out, not as an intermittent fault. Combined with the metal flakes and your mileage, I would definitely start using an additive until it reaches 120K miles (193,000 kms) when the warranty expires for the HPFP.

2012年11月24日 · Ok, So leaving the driveway today in my 09' JSW "73,000 miles", the glow plug light came on and power dropped. Shut off the engine and restarted. Glow plug light & CEL went off but came back on during acceleration and power dropped again. Back at home, pulled codes with Vag Com. P0087 & P0191. Pulled fuel filter first thing.

I did change the fuel filter, it was pretty clean and no metal. I removed the fuel metering valve on the hpfp and there was no metal. I do have vcds.
